It needs to be more flexible so that if a parent assesses that her child is more advanced that you can move forward a level or choose more advanced games. It was nice, but definitely not enough content for the cost. We switched to ABC mouse which has a lot more content, a well mapped out learning path, and a rewards system.

He is in 2nd grade but so far has been more of a Kindergarten level reader but he has is gaining strides daily with Homer. I do wish it went higher in level for older kids struggling. I would enjoy this app more if I were able to control how much time is spent, if any, on the music video/art/game sections rather than on the path. My son has found those sections and now would rather do those than the path which makes the Homer App not worth it because he isn’t learning which is the point of the app. With a time restriction or maybe earning time to play on those sections after doing a certain amount of path it would be better and more useful.
Maybe even create games for at the grocery store, at the playground, or at siblings soccer games that require looking around to find things in the environment. Technology is transforming the education sector. Creating an engaging, gamified product experience without sacrificing educational value is a challenge. Rigorous testing with children and parents was crucial and resulted in a stunning, easy to use interface. Additional practice for each letter would be good as well.
